We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Social Media Manager to join our Marketing Team here at PSP Media Group based in Glasgow City Centre.
PSP Media Group at part of the DC Thomson Media company and the successful candidate will join an expanding team in an exciting working environment. You will manage the increasing demands for provision of content primarily focused on driving audience engagement, channel growth and demand for a wide range media platforms including events in sport and lifestyle sectors.
The successful candidate will:
Possess previous management experience of digital content production and social media platforms.
Be an expert user of key social media platforms and aligned content deployment and evaluation tools
Be able to devise social media strategies and deliver effective content plans to enhance marketing campaigns
Ensure that the production and distribution of content supports key marketing campaign objectives
Drive the creative direction of the marketing content aligned to target audiences and campaign subject matter
Able to diversify on many projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment with excellent attention to detail.
Have a proven track record of leading the management of Social Media platforms and a supporting commercial objectives through deployment of social media.
This is a key position to support the marketing team’s aspirations to build a following for its various media and events platforms through a variety of content techniques in an ever evolving digital landscape.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Core responsibilities will be but not limited to:
Support the Marketing Director in the design of key content marketing strategies and campaigns
Lead the development and activation of content strategies and plans across various channels for a range of events and sports media titles
Lead the day-to-day planning and running of social media channels to ensure they are always fresh, relevant, entertaining, up-to-date and accurate.
Increase the reach and engagement of social media audiences and ensure channels compliment other digital channels (websites, social media and video platforms) objectives
Act as the Editor for brand content promoting a range of events and media platforms ensuring the correct tone of voice and brand style is applied to all communications
Manage external agencies as the lead on content provision for Social Media channels.
Keep pace with the evolution of the social media landscape and inform effective deployment of social media to enhance marketing campaigns
Produce innovative ideas and techniques to drive audience growth and engagement
Work with commercial partners to imbed partnership content on owned channels to achieve mutual objectives
Identify and establish key relationships with relevant channels and introduce new ones (e.g. bloggers and social media ‘influencers’)
Manage the measurement of content and channel effectiveness including on-going monitoring of the metrics, targets and KPIs.
Benchmarking – regularly monitor the digital activity of other events and relevant sports brands enhance digital marketing performance.
Emerging technologies and platforms – evaluate and provide recommendations for adoption as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A degree level qualification in marketing, communications or a related / relevant discipline.
Minimum 3 years working with responsibility for Social Media management
Associated content production skills – written, video, audio, graphics packages
Experienced in managing external agencies and content providers in a range of marketing disciplines
Previous experience of social media management in a commercial environment
Strong analytical skills – experience of evaluating channel and content performance
Effective team leadership
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Good IT skills, including experience of working with content management systems and a range of online communications channels.
Experience of delivering brand content in a live event environment (desirable but not essential).
