PSP Media Group at part of the DC Thomson Media company and aim to recruit a talented senior executive to join an expanding team in an exciting, fast paced working environment. bunkered Golf Breaks was launched in September of this year and the new venture has hit the ground running providing great value packaged golf breaks at many of Scotland’s most iconic golf venues. Now we are recruiting to ensure we can support our aspirations to grow our offering to golfers across the UK and Ireland while providing a valuable platform to golf businesses across the country.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced executive who possesses a proven track record in partnerships and sales within the UK golf tourism industry. This new role will see the successful candidate join the senior management team at PSP Media Group based in Glasgow City Centre to support the day-to-day management of our bunkered Golf Breaks business.
You will require to be self-starting, driven and focussed with an eye for detail. You will be responsible for identification and coordination of new commercial partnerships with golf destinations across the UK and Ireland. You will require excellent communication and people skills and expected to define, deliver and manage a framework for our internal team to provide support to our partners and consumers alike. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will lead daily management of all commercial operations of bunkered Golf Breaks (BGB’s) including but not limited to:
Procurement of key courses and hotels within the UK, Ireland and International territories
inc. commercial negotiations / contracts / rate matrices and incentives
Daily management of sales department ensuring clear and focussed drive for results driven by KPI’s in relation to key service levels eg. Calls servicing, enquiry follow ups, conversions and customer service
Daily management of people, processes and systems aligned to sales framework and communication between Product supply, Sales, Marketing & Accounts/Finance.
Daily management of sales pipeline and delivery including customer service/ pre-post trip procedures / partnership liaison / cancelations/ amendments & operations
Drive ongoing evolution of product supply and design to optimise consumer demand
Manage development of the BGB’s website to maximise sales returns via optimised customer journeys and e-commerce supported by other business functions
Creation of breaks itineraries within the UK & Ireland & Europe
Creation of market trending short lead offers, and early booking group deals to aid marketing initiatives
Creation of products at key windows during the year to compete with existing competitors in the market and tap into occasion based opportunities
Develop engagement and working relations with key tourist boards and overseas destinations
Creation of holiday golf breaks allied to bespoke Tournament programme
Negotiation of partnerships with key golf brands providing customer incentives to aid group sales KPI’s
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
To be a strong candidate for this role, you must possess:
Min 3 years’ experience with robust knowledge of the UK golf travel sector
Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills essential
A proven track record in achieving commercial success in this sector
Experience of managing people and teams in this sector
Strong project management skills with the ability to implement and deliver key strategies within a set time frame.
Strong existing relationships with key stakeholders in this sector desirable
Proven experience of weekly/monthly/annual budget management
In addition, the successful candidate will require:
